Bluetooth ready hearing implants

Author: John Pope

Yeap, that’s right people, gadgets are everywhere, and now functions like Bluetooth and audio streaming are coming even to hearing implants, the first product being the Cochlear BAHA BP100, an implant that’s iPod and Bluetooth compatible, helping people with hearing disabilities integrate easier into everyday life.

The BAHA BP100 uses bone conducting technology, so it has to be surgically implanted, but it delivers 25% improvements in speech understanding in noisy situations plus is the first device to use an advanced automatic signal processing system that adjusts itself according to the environment we’re in.

What’s even better is the fact that Cochlear offers a free trial before final installation (the process is actually called osseointegration).
