Motorola H17txt brings Text-to-speech to Bluetooth Headsets
Even if Motorola has lost the smarphones race a long time ago, it shows that a comeback is always possible, the Droid Android smartphone being the best example. But even if Motorola was not always the leader of the pack when it comes to mobile phones they always did well with headsets, especially Bluetooth headsets, like the recently announced Motorola H17txt with MotoSpeak that brings as an innovation the Text-to-Speech function.
The way it works is not that simple though, as it requires a compatible phone with the a text-to-speech app installed. Once you pass this part (if you have an Android or Blackberry phone) things get seamless, as the H17txt will be able to read to you all the incoming messages you receive, can reply with a standard one if you reject the call, can translate messages in 150 languages (hope is not doing it badly, like the Google Youtube translation engine).
The rest of the specs of Motorola H17txt are not that extraordinary, boasting Bluetooth 2.1 compatibility and CrystalTalk noise-canceling technology. The H17txt is available through Verizon starting April 1st.
