We’ve already talked about the Plantronics Voyager Pro, the best headset on market today, but there’s always someone who wants to challenge the leader, and the new device that does not only comes from Plantronics but also is made using the Voyager Pro tech specs, while adding some new features like a special USB Bluetooth dongle which is paired to the Plantronis Voyager Pro UC, allowing it to be used like a VoIP headset together with programs like Skype and such.

If you’re wondering what UC means, we’re happy to tell you the initials come from “Unified Communications”. The dongle’s firmware is fitted with some special functions than allow the headset to answer/reject calls you receive from Skype users. Plantronics says the dongle increases the communication range and audio quality, but I’m not sure this is possible, as all audio filters lie into the headset, but you know how those marketing slogans work.

Now, let’s get to what we’re really interested in: price, which is set by Plantronics to around  199 $, an no, you can’t just buy the dongle and use the much cheaper Voyager Pro, as the two things are not compatible. That’s it, want the best, go for the Plantronics Voyager Pro UC. Too bad tough that it isn’t a bluetooth stereo headset.
