What is Bluetooth Technology?
We all heard about Bluetooth, but few people know what Bluetooth technology really is. That’s why we believe it’s important to understand it before we use it. Bluetooth is a short range wireless communication protocol between fixed and mobile devices. It’s seen as a replacement to classic cable Serial Interface (RS232). Communication between two devices is made through PAN (Personal Area Networks).

Let’s see what Bluetooth allows you to transfer between compatible devices:
- communicate between a mobile phone and a headset
- communication between two PCs, if low bandwidth is not an issue
- receiver/transmitter function with mices, keyboards and printers
- transfer of files, contact details, calendar appointments, and reminders between devices with OBEX bluetooth profile
- transmissions with GPS receivers, medical equipment, bar code scanners, and traffic control devices
- Dial-up internet access on personal computers or PDAs using a data-capable mobile phone as a modem for accessing the web
